I’ve been trying to figure out why this rapper treats, responds, or just carries himself in a rather sour manner towards people who actually promote him and his music. Idk if i’ve heard him say thank you/appreciate it, that means (insert kind word) to me, treat everyone around him at his show with love. I had a drop from mr. hamilton, he was quite a douchebag in the clip, which really co-signed my thoughts on him just really being a rude person overall.. it’s not an act.. cause i know i hadn’t done anything but post his work. So i said okay lets try again another time, another location, 2nd drop was probably worse. So i’m assuming i’ve found his theory to this madness? “People don’t buy records, they buy people” So he wants people to just focus on his music? Not him as a general human being.. This logic isn’t working for me, nooow i’m not drawn to spend a dime on charles(?) or his music because of his attitude. Which is unfortunate, anyhow i could have it wrong if so someone correct me.

I’ve seen the kid around here and there..now i understand he may have a chip on his shoulders. Having went through whatever struggles he had to endure to get where he is now.That don’t even matter because with out no struggle there would be no success. His vibe is kinda wack, i’ve met many artists and for a kid that hasn’t done much in this game he needs to relax for a few. I’m not hating on what he has also. Look at what Mel said “shit even mos def remembers me” . I can believe that because i may not know Mel personally but i’ve seen him out tons of times and he seems like a straight up cool dude.

Hello H.E.R., I shared the same sentiment as you a little while back. I’d heard his interview on Lip Service where he completely destroyed Luke and made him look like an asshole….I’d also heard several other interviews that had the irritated tone that you speak of. Let’s face it….Hard work and dedication isn’t all you need to survive in this game. Being an asshole every time someone hears you utter a word is only reserved for those that the public believe deserve that right. Right now…Charles doesn’t….not right now at least.
So to bring this all in I’ll tell you a brief story…I work at XM radio in DC and I was making a run to the vending machine, a path in which passing the front desk of the building is apart of. Upon walking to the machine I glance outside of the front desk and see a figure dancing outside of the building. Something was very peculiar about the guy as I stared on at his ridiculous display of dancing. He had a pink long shirt on under a collared dress shirt with curly hair. After watching him for about 40 seconds, I realize it was Charles Hamilton. So, I go outside and he has those large headphones on his head, as seen in some pics circulating on the net. He is in his own world, occasionally saying a lyric or two outside. As I go outside a of his friend notices I’m near him. I utter to the friend “Is that Charles Hamilton?” and he nods his head and taps Charles. We spoke for about a minute about the interaction was positive. I was surprised…very surprised.
So…I guess that’s one positive interaction in the books. In general…I see what you mean. It’s easy to see how the public perception is that he is an asshole with the interviews that he has. I think he needs to make a move towards a more positive image. Ahh…but what do I know.
Great assessment H.E.R. but, maybe it’s just him making a new “gimmick” that’s kind of like “Hey look, I’m not about gimmicks but I love sonic the hedgehog (So I rock the tee’s) and I like giving attitudes” … Is this Hip Hop’s new Amy Winehouse (Without the drugs though?! or maybe LOL)

I had to say something too. I hit this site alot and I have never seen you go off like this. I peeped the other day after the Puma event that Mel didn’t like him either and I was shocked. I have a very different impression of Charles.
I also run a site, it’s very new (LooseNeck.com, hit it up when you have time) and my first interview ever was with Charles Hamilton and it went great!
I had so much fun with Charles and the Demevolist family, I thought he was super polite and open (great interview candidate). I even covered this event last night (see review at looseneck) and it was dope! I dunno…I think Charles is misunderstood alot. He comes across as cocky and rude but I don’t think that’s really his intention.
Just sharing, hope I helped…even a little? lol

Charles Hamilton seems to honestly be a humble dude, but it seems the issue is when an artist tries to show their independence from critics, it can be taken as being disrespectful. Someone who has positive criticism is one thing, but I think CH’s attitude is more geared towards ignorant people who judge him as being too much like another artist or “the new soulja boy” and stuff like that. So he tries to keep showing how much he doesn’t care what negative thoughts you have about him, but then it kind of gets confused as snobbishness or something.
