i don’t think there’s anything wrong with exposing yourself and your colors to a stranger. whether they’re not popular, whether they’re famous, whether they’re a thug rapper or a beautiful model, you never know who’s going through what or how they internally could be feeling. there’s a limit of course, you don’t go blabbing about nonsense, just a piece of your personality and some kind conversation can go along way if you let it. granted i am shy majority of the time now-a-days, esp in NY, i had more courage when i was younger and funnier but i still want to strive to be that person.
i grew up talking to any and everybody when i was little. i ate lunch with the girl from the trailer park sitting at a table on the end by herself, and i sat with the heavy-set kid on the bus who always sat at the front of the bus (even though everyone hated the front, everyone wants to be in the back playing pencils!). you never know what kind of effect you could have on someone. make someones day. everyday, why not. compliment your partner, facebook your mom and tell her you appreciate her (disregarding how you might despise ur parents already owning a facebook lol). twitter someone. text someone a reminder. it will always be the smallest, and simplest things that mean the most.
and if you’re popular, or have a ‘higher ranking’ be proactive, people are following you, respond to your crowd, no need to be too cool <3
“and be you that’s when it sounds, bea-u-tiful”
